A devastating road traffic accident occurred along Robert Mugabe way near Chevron Hotel in Masvingo on 30/12/24, resulting in a a swollen heel. The v!ctim is a Police Officer stationed at Masvingo Central Police Station who was on duty controlling traffic.
According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyati, a motorist driving a white Nissan AD Van vehicle, registration number AFV 1597, struck a police officer and did not stop after the accident.
“Police in Masvingo are investigating a hit and run road traffic accident in which a motorist driving a white Nissan AD Van vehicle, registration number AFV 1597, hit a police officer who was controlling traffic along Robert Mugabe way near Chevron Hotel on 30/12/24. The police officer sustained a swollen heel and the driver did not stop after the accident,” Nyati said
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has also confirmed another distressing hit and run road traffic accident occurred on the same day. A yet to be identified man was k!lled after being strucked by an unknown motorist who did not stop after the accident at the 38 kilometre peg along Harare-Wedza Road.
” Meanwhile, a yet to be identified man was killed after being hit by an unknown motorist who did not stop after the accident at the 38 kilometre peg along Harare-Wedza Road on 30/12/24,” Police added.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) are appealing to the public who might have the information to report at any nearest Police Station.
