In a heart-wrenching incident that sent shockwaves through the nation, six lives were tragically cut short on Friday evening in Rusape following a deadly road accident along the Harare-Mutare Road.
This follows after a Harare-bound commuter omnibus side-swiped a haulage truck.

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the grim news, shedding light on the specifics of the accident.

Commissioner Nyathi said three people lost their lives instantly, while the others succumbed to their injuries after being rushed to the Rusape General Hospital for medical attention.
According to ZBC, the tragedy unfolded when a commuter omnibus, en route to Harare, attempted to overtake a haulage truck on a treacherous curve near the Rusape tollgate.
Six other people who were in the commuter omnibus are admitted at Rusape General Hospital after sustaining injuries.
In other news, the ZRP has said Kadoma authorities are currently investigating a murder case involving Enock Bhokisi (30), who passed away after a mob assault.
The incident occurred on Thursday around 0200 hours at a residence in Golden Valley suburb, Kadoma.
The mob allegedly attacked Bhokisi for his purported involvement in stealing car polish and earphones from a parked vehicle.
In a statement, the police said:
Police in Kadoma are investigating a case of murder in which Enock Bhokisi (30) died after being assaulted by a mob for allegedly stealing car polish and ear phones from a car on 27/07/23 at around 0200 hours at a house at Golden Valley suburb, Kadoma.
