Sonja Madzikanda, the ex-wife of social media sensation Wicknell Chivayo, has fired back after he publicly blamed the dissolution of their seven-year marriage on her inability to get along with his family.
The couple, who share two children, John and Minana, recently finalized their divorce, setting the stage for a heated exchange that has captivated social media.
Chivayo, now making headlines for his new romance with Lucy Muteke—whom he plans to marry this year—has claimed that familial strife was the primary reason behind their separation.
In a candid social media post, Chivayo expressed the heartache of leaving Sonja, saying, “Leaving my ex-wife was undoubtedly one of the MOST DIFFICULT decisions I have ever had to make.” He attributed the breakdown of their marriage to “irreconcilable differences,” specifically citing Sonja’s ongoing struggles with his late mother and six sisters.

“In the end, the constant fighting became too overwhelming,” he shared, emphasizing his commitment to supporting Sonja for the sake of their children and revealing that he recently splurged R2 million on a family vacation across Vietnam and Japan.
However, Sonja wasn’t about to let his comments slide without a rebuttal. Taking to Instagram, she didn’t hold back in her response, criticizing Chivayo for what she perceives as his incessant online antics. “I don’t care who you marry. Marry and move… Respect your business partners, respect the offices you go into,” she stated.
Further fueling the fire, she questioned his whereabouts, sarcastically asking, “Why are you always making noise on the internet? Aren’t you supposed to be at church? Aren’t you supposed to be at kuMasowe?”
