TelOne, Zimbabwe’s state-owned telecommunications company, has just secured a license to resell Starlink services, joining other approved companies like Aura, Dandemutande, Frampol, and Paratus.
This move is expected to revolutionize the way business is done in Zimbabwe, especially online, by providing high-speed, low-latency internet access even in remote areas.
Starlink, operated by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, offers global mobile broadband and has been launched in over 100 countries.
Zimbabwe is the 14th African country to license this low-cost, high-speed internet service provider.
This development is aligned with the government’s vision to prioritise the digital economy and promote investment in technology.
With TelOne on board, customers can now access Starlink services through a trusted local provider.
This partnership is significant, as TelOne’s experience in billing, customer service, and infrastructure deployment will enhance the delivery of Starlink services.
“Please be advised that TelOne is now an officially authorised Starlink Reseller. This exciting development expands our range of services that enable us to better serve you with modern and efficient connectivity solutions.
“TelOne is committed to providing connectivity across Zimbabwe and beyond. The appointment of TelOne as an authorised Starlink reseller enhances our ability to achieve this goal,” said TelOne in the statement.
