Tinashe Mutarisi, a notable Zimbabwean entrepreneur and passionate music supporter, has publicly committed to settling the royalties owed to musician Delroy Shewe for the widely acclaimed track “Superstar,” which was featured on Nash TV.
This promise comes on the heels of Shewe’s recent appearance on DJ Ollah 7’s popular podcast, during which he voiced his disappointments over not receiving any financial compensation for the hit song that had captured significant attention.
In response to the unfolding drama, Mutarisi released a video statement, urging young artists such as Shewe to exercise patience and to focus on their craft rather than getting embroiled in disputes.
He expressed his admiration for Shewe’s talent, stating, “I’m a fan of Delroy, and I love his music,” while also emphasizing his readiness to support the promising artist’s career development.
To resolve the financial impasse, Mutarisi pledged a payment of $1,650 to Shewe, which would not only cover the owed royalties but also any related expenses incurred during the song’s production.
Furthermore, he vowed to upload the track “Superstar” onto his own channel to enhance Shewe’s exposure and promote his work to a broader audience.
Adding a twist to the tale, Mutarisi disclosed that the podcast where Shewe aired his grievances was recorded in a studio he owns, yet he has refrained from charging rent or any fees to the podcast team for using his space.
