A h@rrowing incident unfolded on Kariba waters when a hippo @tt@cked a dinghy boat, resulting in the drowning of a 61-year-old fisherman, Ngoni Chikwezvero.
The tr@gedy occurred while Chikwezvero was out fishing with his colleague, Tafadzwa Billiat, near Tsetse Island.
According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the hippo struck the boat, causing it to capsize, and Chikwezvero was @ttacked and drowned.

Assistant Inspector Effort Chapoto, acting spokesperson for the ZRP in Mashonaland West Province, confirmed the incident in an interview with The Herald.
He explained that Chikwezvero’s colleague, Billiat, managed to swim to safety and later made a report to the police on February 2 at around 3:40 PM.
A gruesome discovery was made when police retrieved one of Chikwezvero’s limbs floating in the lake, which was positively identified by his brother, Freddy.
Assistant Inspector Chapoto urged fishers to exercise caution and take necessary precautions to minimize the risk of such incidents.
