The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has confiscated a vehicle owned by popular Zimdancehall artist Bessel Mugo Parewa, better known as Hwindi President.
This action is part of ZIMRA’s effort to crack down on illegally imported cars.
Working with the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), ZIMRA has set up roadblocks and is carrying out random checks at shopping malls throughout the country to ensure that vehicle import regulations are followed.

On his Facebook page, Hwindi President shared a photo of his Chevrolet, which has South African license plates, and asked for help from his fans. In his post, he expressed his frustration, saying:
“Guys, please help me ask ZIMRA for forgiveness. I’m in a difficult situation. Last month, I lost my house, and now ZIMRA is accusing me of an offense just for driving my car. I thought I would only get a fine, but they took my car away. I bought this car legally and have all the right documents. I’ve faced ridicule, and I need your support to plead for forgiveness. I’m just trying to make things right as a fellow Zimbabwean. What did I do to deserve this?”
Despite the situation, Hwindi President is hopeful for a resolution with ZIMRA and continues to seek support from his fans.
