Former Cabinet Minister Supa Mandiwanzir, a media entrepreneur has advised the government to temporarily suspend the issuance of radio licenses.
The Nyanga South Legislator says what is important at this stage is to invest in the existing radio stations (commercial and community), so that they are viable businesses.
‘We ought to reject this notion that in order for us to be a democratic society , we must be licensing everyone to be a broadcaster, therefore we would have arrived and we can attract investment because we are inviting everyone to get a licence,’ said Mandiwanzira.
He was speaking at a strategic validation meeting organized by the Media Alliance of Zimbabwe.
