In Lusaka, a couple named David Banda and Doris Mutale divorced just 14 days after getting married.
The reason for their breakup was very surprising: David didn’t want Doris because she was able to have children.
David, 41, who works at Beautiful Living Company, filed for divorce from 29-year-old Doris.
He said he wanted to end the marriage because Doris could have children, which he didn’t want.
Before their wedding, David paid K13,000 out of a K15,000 dowry for the celebrations.
But just days before their planned events, David canceled them and only wanted a small ceremony.
After they were married, David asked Doris to leave and stay with her family for a month, claiming he needed to sort things out with his ex-girlfriend. Doris later found out this ex was his former wife, Sarah, whom he had divorced earlier that year.

Doris discovered that David had been married three times before.
She found divorce papers for one of his previous marriages and learned David had been dishonest about his past.
In a voice recording, David admitted he wanted to leave Doris because he was afraid of having more children and sharing his property with them. He preferred his ex-wife Sarah, who was unable to have children.
David said he was divorcing Doris because she was too insecure and suspicious of him. He claimed she accused him of being unfaithful and hurt him with her demands.
Magistrate Lombe Chibesakunda granted the divorce and ordered David to pay K6,000 in compensation to Doris.
The court advised David to rethink his approach to relationships, emphasizing that continuously marrying and divorcing women only causes harm.
