A woman’s nine-year marriage ended when she left her home in South Africa and quickly married another man in the UK without officially divorcing her first husband.
Kelvin Wazeza, 40, and Margaret Shamiso Mandishona, 30, both from Chihota, were married for nine years and had one child together.
They lived in South Africa. Margaret recently returned from South Africa and secretly married a man known as Bester who lives in the UK.
Kelvin found out about Margaret’s new marriage not long ago. He said that during their marriage, Margaret often visited Zimbabwe to see her mother while he stayed alone in South Africa with their daughter.
Kelvin explained, “The last time Margaret came back, she received a call from a man in the UK. I called him, and he said he was Margaret’s brother. I had no idea that she was planning to marry someone else during her visits to Zimbabwe.”
When Kelvin asked Margaret’s mother about the new marriage, she initially denied it. But when Kelvin mentioned going to court, she changed her story and pointed to Margaret’s friend Maria.

Sources told Kelvin that only close family attended the marriage ceremony. H-Metro has pictures of Margaret and Bester enjoying their wedding.
Margaret confirmed to H-Metro that she is now married to Bester and insisted that she is not still married to Kelvin. “He is lying,” she said. “You can ask anyone on my Facebook—they’ll tell you the truth.”
Margaret accused Kelvin of abusing her, claiming that she had tried to break up with him many times but kept coming back, hoping he would change. She stated that the money used to pay for her lobola (bride price) was hers, which Kelvin denied.
She added that she used to work in a hair salon while Kelvin worked in the tattoo business, and she mentioned that he would often sleep with his female clients.
When asked about her separation with Kelvin, Margaret said, “I told him directly that I no longer loved him, and I am not coming back.”
During the interview, a man named Bester called H-Metro from the UK, asking why they were interviewing Margaret. He confirmed that he is married to Margaret and told Kelvin to contact him directly about the situation.
He added, “I don’t know that guy. You can give him my number to discuss this with me.”
Margaret’s mother confirmed that her daughter is married to Bester. She said she was against the marriage because her daughter threatened to commit suicide if she did not get her way, saying, “What could I do? Kids today can take these threats seriously.”
