A team of students from Zimuto High School from Masvingo Province will represent Zimbabwe at the World Robotics Olympiad in Turkey. The students will showcase their robot named Jin-da which detects toxic gasses in mines at the international robotics competition that will be held at Izmir in Turkey from Wednesday up to Saturday this week.
According to the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Newsreportzim.com has learnt the development.
“A team of students from Zimuto High School will represent Zimbabwe at the World Robotics Olympiad in Turkey. The students will showcase their robot named Jin-da which detects toxic gasses in mines.
The team leaves for Turkey this morning where they will represent Zimbabwe at the World Robotics Olympiad,” the post reads
Zimuto High School became the first high school to produce the first Zimbabwean team to participate in the World Robot Olympiad.
The national organisers of the event Girls in STEM Trust led by national coordinator and executive director Ms Victoria Nxumalo paid a courtesy call to ICT Minister Hon. Tatenda Mavetera on Monday afternoon.
