One of Nelson Mandela’s grandsons, Mbuso Mandela, along with four other individuals, is set to face charges in a Johannesburg court related to an alleged hijacking incident.
The group was apprehended on Wednesday at a house in Houghton formerly owned by Mandela.
During the police operation, authorities discovered a stolen vehicle and an unlicensed firearm at the location.

The hijacked car had been taken earlier that same day on Louis Botha Avenue in Oaklands.
According to police reports, one of the suspects has been renting the property and is familiar with the other four men involved.
Fortunately, the victim of the hijacking was not injured during the incident.
Mbuso Mandela once expressed his dissatisfaction regarding what he sees as the mismanagement of the family estate.
In a recent media interview, Mbuso alleged that some trustees of the Nelson Mandela Trust are conspiring to neglect the property, which could set the stage for its eventual sale.
“There’s significant collusion occurring between the trustees and the estate executor. It’s common knowledge that serving on a trust board comes with a stipend for trust maintenance. I suspect these individuals are collaborating to ensure that the upkeep of this house is not prioritized,” he remarked.
