Mr. Salifu Ibrahim, a worker from Zoomlion and the Youth Employment Agency, has made headlines after returning a significant amount of money he found at a refuse dumpsite.
The amount, USD1,319, has sparked a mix of reactions from netizens, with some hailing his integrity and others expressing skepticism.
The story unfolded when Ibrahim discovered the significant amount of cash that had gone missing.
Instead of keeping it for himself, he chose to act with honesty, taking it upon himself to track down the rightful owner.

The owner expressed his deep appreciation, stating, “I am overwhelmed with joy and appreciation for this selfless act.”
Despite the acclaim, it’s not known if Mr. Ibrahim received any reward for his commendable actions. The virtuous worker explained that his decision to return the money was rooted in his religious beliefs, which dictate that stealing is wrong.
As news of his selflessness spread, netizens took to social media, calling for him to be rewarded for his integrity.
One user suggested, “Can we please send him to a beautiful vacation for his good deed? Ghanaians, let’s make it happen to appreciate him.”
Conversely, another user remarked sarcastically about the incident, saying he would have kept the money: “Lucky ones always returning money. Can never be me.”
