A woman from Harare has taken her case to the civil court, seeking a protection order against another vendor amidst a dispute over the ownership of a Pepsi vending cart.
Dadirai Sakanda appeared before Magistrate Mandlenkosi Ndlovu last week, alleging that James Sakanda had been harassing her since she reclaimed the vending cart that she had previously lent to him earlier this year.
Dadirai expressed her distress, stating, “He is sending street kids to harass me because I am refusing to give him my Pepsi cart,” she said.
“I am always getting robbed of my stock every day and he sends threats to assault me.”
In response to her plea, Sakanda requested that the court intervene and prohibit the respondent from further harassment. Magistrate Ndlovu, in turn, advised the applicant to consider seeking an interdict order to prevent the respondent from taking possession of her stock.
