A catastrophic event at a nightclub in Dzivarasekwa led to the arrest of former Dynamos midfielder Nathan Ziwini (38), who is now being charged with murder.
The terrible incident was reported by the Zimbabwe Republic Police on their official Twitter account:
“On 09/07/23, Police in Dzivarasekwa arrested Nathan Ziwini (38) in connection with a murder case in which he allegedly assaulted Mamasa Magwarimbo (40) at a Nite Club in Dzivarasekwa.”
According to the police report, Ziwini and Mamasa Magwarimbo got into a violent argument over control of a bar chair in the busy club.
Magwarimbo suffered serious head injuries as a result of the violent encounter that swiftly developed from the quarrel. Even though the unfortunate victim was brought to Parirenyatwa Hospital for emergency medical care, he passed away from his injuries not long after being admitted.
The disturbing incident was quickly addressed by Zimbabwe Republic Police, which led to the former football star’s detention. Ziwini, who gained attention for allegedly selling drugs last year, is now accused of murder, a charge that carries much heavier penalties.
